Wormhole

Wormhole occurred during one of Ernie and my after work laundry drops. This usually consists of dropping the laundry, getting something to eat, grocery shopping and then some wine shopping. Simple stuff.
While Ernie was getting the wine I smoked a cigarette outside the liquor store. I am always looking around so I can avoid the cigarette bums.
Funny enough these aren’t mostly homeless people but younger people. Younger people with enough dollars to match their entitlement. They offer a dollar for a cigarette which I then explain will pay for them in the store.
Sometimes this gets very aggressive. I have had people attempt to spit on me or call me a faggot. I just blow smoke in their face. Don’t want some, won’t be none.
Oddly the girl who spit on me had a 24k rose gold septum piercing. Punk colored hair, nice clothes. She wanted to tell me how her boyfriend beat her. At the cigarette bum stage I was out, but she just had to overshare.
So in this guarded moment I see the reflection of the buildings in the pool of water. The piece of trash like an opening to another dimension.
Maybe it’s a place where privileged kids wearing Margiela sneakers don’t beg for cigarettes.
