Wendy Forked is more of Amiga pictures of a friendship that is entirely forked. This is also the basis of the How Soon Is Now? painting. Just thought I would show scans of the original slide film.
Why retread? Because I was doing digital photography in the nineteen eighties, so suck it.
It’s all about developing a history. Also about showing my instant affinity for computers. I just took to them so quickly that it seemed natural.
My initial encounter had been through school. An old Apple IIe and then later Duane Whitehurst’s Macintosh.
I really envied him on some level. He seemed to have so much and I had so little and you know how that goes.
Of course in the years since I have put it all in perspective. The last time I ever saw him was at Lollapalooza. He was there for Nine Inch Nails. That is all I need to say about that.
Even growing up it was all a little too precious. It wasn’t witchcraft it was The Satanic Bible. Metal and Apple computers.
Even if I hadn’t ruined that friendship, another story for another time, it would have always gone the same way. None of those early friendship bonds have survived in a truly great adult experience. It didn’t help that I shed them like an old skin.
