House of Cards

House of Cards is in the same vein as Amy Adams and J-Law. Someone uncovering a hidden truth. A truth that takes the piss out of an overhyped television show.
Don’t get me wrong. The first season was good. But that last one jumped the shark on a lot of levels. Kevin Spacey’s overacting being a prime example.
Breaking the third wall again Frank? Is this Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? And that accent is so grating.
Not to mention all the rumors about Kevin Spacey. His role as a closet case politician seems grotesque if there is any truth to the rumors. Not that I would know anything about this.
The real reason I loved the first season was the icy evil of Claire as played by Robin Wright. Her beard status was loathsome and brilliant. And I get how great it is to show this kind of life. At its best it’s good television.
But those days are long gone. This simple treatment of clown noses seems like foreshadowing. Or maybe the person who did this was hype resistant.
Maybe they knew what it was from the beginning. Maybe they never watched an episode at all. Maybe I should do the same.
