Greek BK has been my lock screen for a couple of years. I love everything about it. The wavy engraving lines. The color the placement. My picture of it is pretty good too. So much is right about it, I choose to look at it everyday.
It helps that the color palette is neutral. Seeing those icons not fighting the background is essential. The background the piece is place on is nicely sprayed white with just enough texture.
I still shoot paper pieces quite a bit. They are inspiring and help me see what I can do in my own work. The paint pieces that are appealing are few and far between. I have discussed this disparity in previous posts.
Even though the PR-RAW pieces predate this you can see similarities in the line work. What I get that is fresh is the thickness and the distortion. Neither of which obscure the imagery.
It’s subtlety and cleanness are inspirational. Just steal a bit of it for my betterment. Hopefully it will inform one of the many new pieces I am working on.
But now that I have shared it on this site it is time to find a new desktop image. It will be hard but I shouldn’t have kept it for two years. That’s just lazy.

10 Aug 2015it’s a great piece, craig – symbol rich and balanced, effortless and irreverent as with the best of your collage.

10 Aug 2015First off, you know this is just a photo of some unidentified street paper artist, right? I hope you do or the high praise gets sketchy. Sorry I haven’t written to you in forever. Really loved Cake Casket. Not bullshitting you, we need to go out and talk and have a drink. When are you up for some Craig?
