Concrete

Concrete is another shot from Ninth Avenue. A bridge support structure that makes me fantasize about a summer club space. And then I think about the homeless shelter on the same block.

It would not be the best mix of people or scenarios. It could also be perceived as callous or naive. Neither of which I want to project.

Maybe in some other alternate reality there is a booming party that happens in this exact spot. Happening in a different Manhattan that never saw Alig and Giuliani ruin the club culture. Never saw them pound it into lounge culture and then blew that dust away.

This city has seen better days. Better times with less douchebags. Better decades with more culture and immediacy.

Right now it is just a city of people who moved here because of Gossip Girl or whatever that idea is right now. I guess that was an old reference.  But it reminded me of someone I once met.
