If you weren’t getting the picture before now, 5 brings it home to you. More amateur pics, again with me peeking out of the background.

I absolutely love this piece. The colors. The ridiculousness. The Dario Argento horror of it all. I don’t know why it evokes Dario Argento, but it does and always has made that mental connection for me.

Just an explanation of the titles of these pieces. They are all named after the source amateur filename. I then opened the files in photoshop and started creating the layers and playing. Mostly as a way to get better at Photoshop.

I think I am far better at Photoshop now, but still not a genius with it. I wonder sometimes if I should fix that or just keep using a scalpel as a sledgehammer.

Not to say that my photo workflow isn’t up to snuff. I can Bridge with the best. But as far as high end beauty retouching, I am a hack that struggles with the idea.

I once professionally worked on a series of photos of Chloe Sevigny hawking Samsonite luggage. The photographer was such an idiot, she forgot to clean her lens before the shoot. I just remember me and another editor up until dawn shopping black flecks off Chloe’s face. It was a nightmare.
