I just have two in the Reflections Series. This being the first of those two. Two seems too few for an idea I am obsessed with.
In a city filled with glass and mirrors, reflections are taken to the next dimension level. Everything is a reflection of a reflection. Worlds within worlds.
The black windows in the shade provide the best visibility of yourself. The light blots you out and reduces you to silhouette. A strange metaphor along the lines of black mirror.
The images in this set are some of my best. The moth trapped on Charlize Theron’s chin in a bus advertisement is simultaneously a self-portrait. All ideas synchromystically reflecting memes I was dealing with at the time.
The fluorescent tubing reflected through multiple pieces of glass. One thing I adore about glass an mirrors is the double reflection of both sides of the pane. Slightly offset like poorly registered lithograph printing.
Pictures of a ceiling lamp at Design Within Reach. Organic mirrored plastic beauty. I must say that every single time I walk by Design Within Reach I want to vandalize their name by appending it with For Some. Just a quick stencil and some etching spray.
Then a little condensation on the bathroom mirror and some tinfoil. Tinfoil I should use to make a hat. Which reminds me of my Aunt Pauline. But that is a story for another post or piece of art.
