In the second of the Serialization Series we see more of the same addiction. Repetition and it’s power over my mind and eye.
Starting off again with light. Hurricanes and candles repeating like a bit of trick photography. But no trick is used.
Snow on a fire escape. It changes the fire escape to something new. Like ribs or bones that have accumulated little mountains of white powder.
Fences. Fences show up even in the Street Art Series. Cyclone fencing is such a part of my childhood. I hated it. Thought it tacky. Still do.
It sags with age. It never looks great even when brand new. All it does is mark boundaries and maybe keep pets alive longer than normal. That’s the only good thing I can say about it. And a wooden fence would keep the same pet alive.
Yet it draws my eye because of the repetition and that association from my childhood.
Then I show a bit of sky as seen through the PS1 Warm Up outdoor construction. A grid whose overlapping netting features easter egg rhombus action.
The stack of Have a Nice Day bags unintentionally is a self-portrait. Intentionally it is one of my favorite images ever. Love the layers of meaning in this simple photograph.
