Time for the second appearance of Helena Christensen. Looking so tan and bejeweled. I wish I could remember the designer (maybe Versace, but I couldn’t swear to it) but my memory is a little fuzzy.

Overall this isn’t a failure but once again not a star of the set. The simplicity of the elements is good. The simple halo cut using a protractor with a tiny needle like blade. It shredded the edge in a way that was fitting.

The brooch behind her head is a fun element that reminds me of jewelry my mother owned. But the background of sky, it’s a little boring.

I love the destruction with the exception of the X-Acto slices in the hair. Next time I will have to find a way to create that effect without seeming so basic or obtrusive.

Most importantly, I need to be working which I struggle with for various reasons lately. When I say reasons I mean excuses. I have four series planned and carefully written about in my notebook. Eventually I will have planned more work than I have actually done.

In the end, it’s only myself that is holding me back. I look at how little I over thought these pieces and need to seize that energy. Just lunge forward and get that first series going and done.

The hindrance might be my fear that the next series is too academic. So I have been trying to come up with ways to make it exciting. Let’s see if I can pull it off.
