With number fifteen in the MPRSS_HRNT series I find myself back at Scarlett Johansson. Maybe the RiRis didn’t do so well, but Scarlett’s Scarlet Woman did right by me.
I love the sideways mountain range landscape face replace. The composition as a whole works, her hand and arm providing new elements and dynamics. The hairnet is lovely and it’s made from one of those Red advertisements to fight AIDS. The jewelry is amazing and brings in a nice esoteric reference.
This is another one that I don’t think I could have done better but I wouldn’t say is one of my absolute favorites. Many of these work within my imposed constraints, but not all rise to the level of absolute perfection.
Shortly after finishing this series I was asked via email for submissions to Scroll of Thoth. The official magazine of the Tahuti Lodge. If you don’t know any of those ideas, you should Wikipedia them right now. After some back and forth with editor Mark Reynolds, he selected this piece for the cover.
I should also mention that this same issue has an interview with Alan Moore. I know that Alan Moore was also sent copies, so it warms my heart that a man whose work I absolutely adore has seen my work. You can see the cover and I will provide links to purchase the issue below.
Here is the cover:
