Third piece in this tiny MAZEXTRA Series sees a pair of strange boots cut out of a lovely rug. Reminds me of all those symmetrical hyper patterns first from McQueen and then later at Lanvin.

I think that this one is so successful because i wasn’t over thinking it. I wasn’t even assuming that I would keep these pieces. Even at three in. This piece changed all of that and not necessarily for the better.

Not to say this isn’t great. It’s one of my favorites. If not my favorite. But I am made aware that this is happening at this moment and I think it affects later pieces.

In later pieces I tried to slap the cuts down without over thinking it like this to less success. I wish I had thought about them just a bit more instead of hoping greatness like this would repeat.

I just love the boot reference. To me it looks like one behind the other in three-quarter view. In some weird vector based video game. When I look at it in real life it honestly makes me smile. It’s unique and nicely quirky.
