Found Object

Dirty Horse is a found object I adore. A simple fashion show flyer trod on by tons of people in a rain storm. Found outside of work after a long night.

Even wet the patterns were gorgeous. Prettier than the actual flyer. This is the piece after drying and it is now stored with in the filing cabinets.

The red causes the dirty pattern to be less contrasted. But the back is glorious. The pattern nearly intact from the way it was found.

It looks like a pen and ink exercise. Sumi brush beauty so tiny and thoughtful. Just enough movement in the destruction.

Once again Bloomingdales pops up. More synchronicity. What is my connection to this institution?

It is one of those found objects that makes me want to do pieces of pure dirt. Footprints on watercolor paper. It would be a difficult project to manage.

How would I make sure the piece wasn’t stolen or destroyed? Would I have to sit in a heavy traffic area in the pouring rain? Would I have to stay with the piece for days? It seems an impossible task to replicate.
