Landscape 2 sees more of the same in RGB and snowflake cuts. I share these in the simplicity to show how I came to destroying the work. It was always there.
It goes back to the Supermodel series. A simple mistake I had to continue in order to create unity. But this thread runs through a tremendous amount of the work.
But it also runs through my life. The patinas of ethnographic art. That simple mistake foreshadowing an entire future look for me.
Just search Shredded on this site and you will see the constant. It is something I think is important to the work. It keeps following me and reinforcing itself as a directive.
It has been even more important as I get more digital. Taking the process out of the computer and reinforcing the human hand is essential to my process.
Sometimes all I can see are the errors. Glaring at me in mockery. But then I just make piece with it because they emphasize that the piece was made by my human hand.
It could all be digital. Perfect. It would probably come across better. But the more my body develops patina, the less important I find perfection.
