So the bitching and complaining must come to an end. How do I make this series happen after this huge learning process?
First thing I did was talk to the magazine shop owners. Finding out when the magazines actually deliver could open the window for the pieces. By knowing this information I could eliminate the possibility of overhead from high priced back issues.
Knowing this window also gives a time limit on the piece. No lingering. One month to complete three pieces. Any mistakes or damage to the original prints can be fixed by buying a new issue right off the shelf.
That is step one in solving the preciousness of the material which is the real block for the whole series. The preciousness is where the anxiety came from.
Seeing as the cutter has notoriously eaten so many past pieces. It is foolish to continue towards a series based on perfection like this without a contingency plan. Step one involves mitigating the preciousness of the raw material.
This also solves the multiple year long drag of the pieces. Here is a thirty day time limit now run like hell.
