Icons-Elizabeth Fraser 003 sees the return of the Icon Series. The Siouxsie piece was such a defeat I just crumbled. Here is to more great failures.

This third piece is of a goddess. The great Dada Queen Elizabeth Fraser. I honestly am not exaggerating when I say that if you don’t know her music you shouldn’t be allowed to listen to music.

Long before many of you were born this woman fused hip hop, post punk and Dada. Unintelligible lyrics over guitar based drum machine tracks fused with album artwork that was Art with a capital A.

Maybe she didn’t self identify as goth but the first album set a tone that can be felt even as recently as witch house. The numbers of imitators pile up as you look through music history. This is shoe gaze and much more.

Cocteau Twins are one of the most under appreciated bands ever. I don’t think many people understand how amazing they were as a total package. There hasn’t been anything like them since.

Tonight while doing these I changed the process. I only listened to Cocteau Twins all day and I really focused on making this one succeed. That last one left me a bit disheartened. This though is a pretty good piece and I feel back on track.
