hence senz

hence senz is a piece of paper art in perfect destruction. An example of inspiration for so many of the works I create. I just stumbled across it in NoLita on the way to the magazine store.
Before writing this I spent the entire morning organizing the filing cabinets. Going through piles of papers that have carelessly accumulated in the past twenty years. It was a gasp worthy exercise.
In this phase, I am collecting myself. Organizing the old or preparing for some massive outburst. I haven’t quite figured out which one it is.
The one thing I kept feeling was this anxiety of what to do next. How do I take all these saved bits from the past and make them work in a totally new way for me? Is it even possible?
One thing I definitely must let go for now is the idea of series of paintings. Sure they are great, but the process eliminates experimentation. I need to experiment more.
So I think in the future it will be more single pieces. Strange one offs attempting to make sense of the past while projecting into the future. Just need to take one step.
