FFXIV Nico 07 reflects the same switch to darkness as the previous post Display Distortion 5. All blues to blacks in a literal inferno battle with Ifrit.

It is good to note that I usually hide my headgear in game. But the gigantic bars hat was such a dramatic draw I had to let the flair show.

Reflecting on the previous post, how do I incorporate this aesthetic into new work? Maybe references to all the summons from Final Fantasy. Maybe a few odes to classic video games I love.

It seems as though a good portion of the work I have produced is either indebted to pop or surrealism. So that is a container that needs breaking and redefining. The level of pop needs to be carefully beaten.

The surrealistic aspect really draws me. After my encounter with Picabia at the Tate Modern in London I felt a real pull. As though I had found my spiritual artistic predecessor.

Even looking at his layered pieces it reminds me so much of my CSN piece. It’s crazy because I had never seen those pieces before. Just do a google search and you will see the uncanny similarity.
