This DJ Mix is the very first collaborative mix with Ernesto Repetto. It came about very organically. I had compiled a group of bombastic new tracks that were super slick. Ernesto immediately saw the connection between their sound and the bombast of Stock Aitken Waterman tracks from the PWL era. So we went diving and layered the hell out of this DJ Mix.

This particular DJ Mix has the highest play count and download count on soundcloud.com. Even surpassing the previous dubstep mix that held the number one title for a long time.

I love how heavily layered it is. It was quite a feat to get everything to work nicely together. Lots of filtering and Ernesto cut many of the loops for each specific part. I find this all especially amusing considering how much work went to make something so silly and frequently funny. Music should make you smile and laugh.

The cover is another collaborative effort. The pieces seen there are from a real portrait I had cut of Ernesto. During the process I will frequently store the piece I am working on in a comic book bag with a backing board. Ernesto liked how the pieces fell into the bag and scanned it. Also the best typography ever, I think.
