DJ Mix

Third DJ Mix in 2009 and seventh in this archival series. I take another genre left turn and go for dubstep or post dubstep bass music. However you want to call it.

Every artist in this mix I still avidly seek out their music to this day. Most here get that dubstep is lower tempo drum and bass. It’s all about the atmospherics and less about the drop.

More importantly it’s about breakbeats. For the longest time I have loved breakbeat. Eclipsing the four on the floor of house. I once tried to explain to two circuit party goers what a breakbeat was, I might as well have tried to explain the Higgs Boson. You just can’t help some people.

I have followed breaks for a long time. From hip hop to hardcore to nu skool, it’s a genre I truly love to the core of me. The great thing is that it never goes away. It just pulls on a new genre name and reappears.

You can download or listen to the 320 kbps here. If the soundcloud player is still here, use that. It helps me keep statistics on plays and downloads.
