Exquisite Corpse 02 sees Higher weirdness. More boobs. Letters for legs and that weird pear bird head. The middle being an angel eating ice cream.
Before posting these I really had to fight myself. It was almost embarrassment at the juvenile style of my pieces. Maybe not being on par with Laura’s lovely hand. Just that usual demon of inadequacy creeping up on me.
But I knew I needed to post them for many reasons. It shows my constant need to create. Even under the strain of the veal fattening pens/cubicles of the National AIDS Hotline. A job that was at best tedious and at worst a reflection of how fucked up social health is viewed in America.
The series also adds an element of much-needed pen and ink to break the monotony. A level of pure hand that shows that I personally have layers. It’s all about layers. Thanks Anyanka.
More important to my current reality, they really remind me of Crowley’s Goetia. King Solomon’s lesser key. A compendium of demons that can be summoned if you dare.
There is a childlike dream quality in both sets. A hint of something magical. But most importantly just two friends carrying on a great surrealist tradition.
