Exquisite Corpse 01 is the beginning of an old collaborative set between Laura Farrow and me. Way back in the grunge heavy nineties we created these pieces while working at the National AIDS Hotline.
Even as I write this I feel queasy about posting something like this on my site. The imagery is even more goofy than usual and it shows off so many weaknesses.
If you wonder who did what, just know the pretty bits are all Laura. Laura was always trying to get me to work and produce. Always engaging. She always worked and still does.
This is one of the reasons I post these now. It is a good association with the past. A cherished memory.
I will never forget one Christmas holiday I came to work. My friends knew I had no family. Both of my parents dead. My boyfriend at the time had broken up with me leaving me without a home.
I had nothing but those friends at that job. There in my cubicle was a huge basket of art supplies. A tear worthy moment I will hold for the rest of my life.
