Crosswalk

Crosswalk is more textural essay. A shot of those luminescent crosswalk strips. A map of some negative universe.

Once again it is just me being obsessed with tiny variations. The differences in whites and gray and black. All in an attempt to make photography more like painting.

In the current mindset this is important knowledge. I love things that bend the perception of the actual medium. Although this sometimes is a point of contention.

Sometimes when people ask if a painting is a print of a Photoshop file it is jarring. As though that makes the piece less real or important. An old idea I will have to stifle in me.

Just embrace everything. The weird and the wonky. Embrace the juvenile and the edgiest bits. I just need to pull it all in really deep and hope that by pulling them close I can synthesize something new.
