The last piece in the Cutout Series is also the only duo in the set. A picture of Ernesto Repetto and myself shot originally in the heart of a cold winter.
The result isn’t my favorite. Once again the scale of the cut is smaller than I would have liked. But the way the images work with the magazine images is wonderful.
Initially I was doing this piece as a cover for music Ernesto and I were working on at the time. It has been used on the Maam version of our Soundcloud. I bring this up because we just got a copy of Reason 7. It’s time to start writing songs again.
I haven’t spoken about this work or share that link. Mostly because it never was fully realized and lots of our back catalogue remains unfinished.
This has a lot to do with me feeling less comfortable in the world of audio than in painting or collage. It’s a hobby that I love but one I am not a master of so I keep it under wraps. That all changes this year. Starting with this post.
I have a fantasy of releasing a limited edition disc this year. After chatting with Zachary Schwartz about his own pursuits, it’s given me ideas that won’t leave my head. Time to get it done.
Maybe an EP with a video and handmade packaging will manifest itself. I just bought a printer than can print directly onto CDs. With the plotter cutter the process could become very interesting.
So hopefully you will be seeing more than just new visual art this year. Maybe some songs will make their way here to these pages too. Maybe some of you would be interested in collaborating. Just drop me a line. Add me on Facebook and find me there. However you want to do it.
