Woodgrain is one of those sets of hyper repetitive imagery I am so fond of. The thing that drew me in was the remnants of Post No Bills blue. As though the wood has been treated with paint remover.
They were huge four foot by eight foot stock sizes. More construction sites on this site. Even on Instagram I am still photographing them.
I am mostly in love with he layered imagery. Or the details and patina. Which provide further layering.
I think I am mostly interested as to why someone took the time to remove the blue paint. Was the whole thing painted or how did it get in the grain like that?
Unlike garages, I continue to be fascinated. Even when I walk by a good garage lately I just continue walking. The love affair is over.
Same for empty retail spaces. I have walked by a couple in he last week that made me pause. I walked by one twice, the pull almost unstoppable, but I evaded it.
But construction sites seem to still hold my attention. I wonder how long before I stop. How long before I grow fickle towards this imagery.
