Water Tower was posted one other time I can think of on Facebook. Arrghhhh, Facebook the home of white knighting social outrage over nothing. Have I said recently that I hate Facebook?
It is so infrequently relevant to anything anywhere unless you are looking to share ideas about your idiotic religious beliefs or the latest in Selena Gomez level news. It is the graveyard of our world society.
So many have tried to be the new Facebook. Twitter and Instagram and that one that failed to launch. It saddens me that anything aspires to be the new anything. Copies of copies of copies can be done well, just not in this case.
I remember reading Jaron Lanier’s You Are Not a Gadget and really feeling its power. He advocated setting up your own website in order to avoid the centralization of social media. It is why this site exists today.
This reality is becoming too uniform. Too much of the same repetitive and insincere bullshit. Politics that cage the mind and the spirit of free speech. It’s a disgusting tragedy.
And like all evils I try to ride it as best I can. Riding a horse you loathe might be why my back hurts all the time. Or maybe it was those years actually helping people at hospice.
Those days were better not out of nostalgia. They were days when I actually effected real change. Not just post about it to a bunch of people lost in their own bubble universe.
