A walk through Chelsea netted this weirdness. A magical dais of hidden knowledge. The only obvious clue to its meaning would be broken symmetry.

The whole image is very Memphis. From the color scheme to the vestigial keystone. Even the upside down j pipes allude to the playful squiggles of the Memphis style.

While writing this on my laptop I finally see the guy staring from the basement. It just freaked me out a little. With the grating he almost looks jailed. I never even noticed this before. What about the cross and 54?

It is also an altar of warning. Don’t fall down the hole. Leaving the mind to ponder if Alice lay at the bottom of the hole dying with broken legs. Wonderland being her tunnel of light. Her last DMT fueled hallucination right before receiving life’s final crown.

That’s where my mind goes while I ponder this picture now. Wondering why the image caused me to try and get just the right shot of it. Still wondering why I like this photo so much.

Then I realize the meaning is all these things and still something else intangible. The whole meaning is hidden and therefore occult.
