SNO is a paper piece from Soho. Titled for the artist’s signature. I could Google him but I am busy with a post a day madness.
I love this piece because of the layers of work involved. Stencil upon stencil. Carefully layered to make the jarring color scheme grind against the banality of fifties beauty.
Right now I need to absorb the layer and color ideas. I have at least three sets currently going. Three sets going so slowly I may turn into a slug.
One fully cooked and running. One that is half cooked and put on the back burner due to procrastination. It would be easier to work on them as soon as I feel caught up on this website.
But there is something nagging me. I have these big sheets of plexiglass that are begging for work. I can almost see them but something is stopping them from coming through.
They need to be epic and totally fresh. Something that synthesizes the ideas that I have already explored with fresh imagery. Something great. Something on par with Picabia. Is that too much to aim for?
I just need to clear my mind and let it come.
