SLACK is entitled for the tag. A tiny part of what I really love about this photo. It has all the elements of New York City.
This particular shot is from the ACE entrance on 8th Avenue and 40th Street. The one on the northwest corner. A regular entrance for me depending on where I am working.
I love the stock fluorescent lights lined up so unconventionally. Classic NYC appropriation. The strange placement and joining is so beautiful.
When I took this shot I was in love. I still am after twelve years. It captures something about the city that is outside of me and my aesthetic.
Not that it isn’t influencing me. It has and continues to every single day. It’s visually and mentally inspiring and educational.
You can see the work before the city and after. This city has caused a huge change in how and what I work on. The thread continues but now it has the texture of New York City.
