Sidewalk Tape shows the process of caulking between sidewalk squares. I am not even sure if it is caulk but you get the idea. This is what they do to stop rain from screwing up the drying process.
Like Mondrians of concrete, tape and Masonite. You can see the visual draw. It is immediately recognizable as art.
For years I have wanted to include this trick in my repertoire. The opportunity still has yet to be seen. But then again I am currently in a strange artistic limbo.
Not an official block. Just a break period where I am focusing on this as my work. This and processes of organization. Cleaning up the clutter and organizing so I can quickly get my hands on any materials needed.
Last night I was once again questioning whether this was stalling. Then that great part of me started speaking.
It explained to me that this was necessary. I need to exhaust the past. Put as much up here as possible. Then I can’t hold onto it anymore. It intimated that after this I could move onto bigger things.
That is my plan. To finish posting the past and then hit hard. It may not be a hard edge of change. But I do feel the pull of creation changing. I think it’s time to up my game.
