Pier D says it was photographed between 2008 and 2010. If I am honest, those are just the dates for this series. I have been photographing it for much longer.

What’s not to love about this? These are my three favorites out of numerous shots. Two angles, two times of day.

It almost looks like a fun game to get there. The thought of jumping from post to post seems video game possible. But it’s probably not.

Maybe for this new crop of super human parkour people. Maybe for the Ninja Warriors. Just not me. Only in my mind.

One of the best things about this place is why is it still here? Why haven’t they torn it down and turned it into a Starbucks or H&M? Is it because someone loves it as much as I do?

I have made many pilgrimages to go and shoot Pier D. All times of the year. Taking the Hudson River stroll up to the Upper West Side. I always love the trip.

Then I take a quick detour to Fairway for a little shopping. Easily one of my favorite grocery stores in all of New York City. Then I subway home.
