Metal Mirror is a duo of self-portraits from a found piece on the street. One of those metal mirrors from some place where you don’t want people cutting themselves or you. That thought drew me back to the days of Hospice.

Sometimes you would have residents that were completely mentally unstable. Unstable residents living under deadlines of mortality can be dangerous. This is especially scary with so many sharp objects around.

When I mean unstable I refer to untreatable borderline personality disorder. Just look it up. It was one specific case out of three cases that were ominous.

It didn’t help that he was gigantic and knew it. Even worse that he was admitted with all the case history removed from his record. The hospital needed to pawn him off on us so the excision benefitted them, not us.

Having experienced the medical industry from a professional perspective has left me disgusted. It’s an industry of butchers and cruel experimenters. This reinforced my own personal experiences with my mother’s illness.

I am not over generalizing. They are just people and I have met many good nurses who kind and compassionate. But like any industry the corruption is undeniable.
