Number twenty-eight of the MAZE Series is a return to beauty. A mixing desk, a man on tram wire and two crops from Juxtapoz magazine. It all blends beautifully.
I like the mixture of cool and warm greys against a warm white. It’s a subtle color palette. I always give myself extra credit when I create anything subtle. It’s quite a feat for me.
I think the top two, MAZE28-1 and 2, are my favorites. The first makes me think of a face. I know it’s beyond a stretch, but it just intimates a human face to me.
The second is great because it is a man walking tightrope on a tram wire. You can see most of him and the structure of the tram support. But it’s truncated perfectly. His head and face missing just like the important scene in Man on Wire. It just parallels nicely and lets my mind wander.
I would say all of this series is far from perfect. Even in the latter half, cut lines are still rough and the fit is suspect. But I must say that the second twenty were a breeze. I was more focused and the result is evident.
