Number 15 in the MAZE Series is a beauty. Finally back to four crops that finish a single set. The nice bit is that they were all planned to come from the same advertisement that is nearly black and white with faded rainbow effects that are just barely visible.
Now the game is about what has to go where. North to South flips are happening on shapes like triangles and parallelograms. But some can’t like the double triangle shapes that dominate. It’s more a game of placement now and I can no longer depend on the map underneath.
This causes the pieces to take more time but it also causes the building process to be more fun. It eases the tedium and frustration caused by the cutter malfunctions. Balance is restored and the pieces are still transforming as a process.
Right now I am in the process of creating new crops and adhering them to cardstock for the next twenty pieces. It’s a time-consuming process. Cropping the original image, adhering to cardstock and cutting again. Then pairing those into sets of four with one alternate.
I feel some dread about putting them into the grinder. I mean cutter. It will be a real feat to get through another twenty of these. Although I originally was going to do the offset Twin Skin set next, I may have to change course and try something less ambitious at first. Maybe a retake on those Supermodels from forever ago.
