M3 is the color version of MM3. The black and white original with watercolors. It’s actually this piece that I used to get into Governor’s School.

I will cover that in a later post. But let me say here that it was easily the best summer I had in school. Posting this is a thank you for letting me have that experience.

Now with the but, this piece is so much better without color. At its best it comes across as Andy Warhol fan art. Just too much homage for my taste.

Not that the watercolors aren’t fun. The changes in color bothered me at the time of creation.  I was striving for the flat color of a serigraph. Instead I chose the wrong medium.

This failure saves it on some level. It shows I have been coping with whatever I could get my hands on from the very beginning. This is my strength not my weakness.
