Icons-Siouxsie Sioux 002 sees the queen of punk and goth come in second place. No shame, it was a hard contest that Kate Bush won.

Siouxsie is the shit! Amazing music. Amazing style. The whole package is phenomenal.

Although sometimes I think her style has allowed a lot of people to dismiss her huge contribution to music.

Maybe if she dressed like a douchebag and became a charity poster child she world be considered to have the greatest band in the world. Cough cough, U2. A band that has borrowed more than their fair share from her.

Rants and sexism aside, she’s more talented and beautiful than you. She is an individual and obvious icon. So don’t hate. Celebrate.

I once pronounced my love to a coworker who flaunted great taste in music. She said the lyrics to Halloween were dumb. Then proclaimed The Jesus Lizard was amazing. How do you even respond to that? You don’t. She couldn’t even  understand a bad band name.

So onto the piece itself. When I sent it to Ernie via text message he responded with, “I can’t see it.” I was like the actual image or Siouxsie herself. He meant Siouxsie. I then made a joke about suicide.

The first version used a Ross Bleckner piece for the black layer but was ruined. I almost stopped for the night but forced myself to continue. This is the result of perseverance.

Sure it isn’t immediately as visible as the Kate. But it’s beautiful and hard to grasp. Just like Siouxsie.
