He Knew is a piece of college legend Wendy Piper. We digitally photographed and then edited the piece all on the Amiga. This final image was a photo print we did of the piece.
For the longest time I had it in a black metal frame by my bed. Like most things I have that have been framed it moved to a box and the the archival files.
I still love this piece. It is a nice missing link in my equation. You can see much of things to come. The harsh lighting and text are ideas I have repeated endlessly.
The yellowing photo paper warm against the cool grey letter. Their typeface so 8 bit. Something I still love today. Pixels are great.
One time on this blog I chose paper over paint and pixels over vectors. Funny that I use so much paint and vectors in my work. Maybe that is something to think about in future work.
Although I must say that the new Icons series is on point. It is both paper and pixel. Wonder if that was my intent. Goodness how things are blurring.
