Garage 7 is just black, white, yellow and filth. Oddly the filth is yellow and white so it works. Compositionally speaking.
This is just leaves and litter. Pretty banal considering the possibility of New York filth. I have discussed the extremes in past posts. I haven’t discussed the seasonal aspects.
Parades in general spawn huge mountains of trash. I mean pre-punk strike era London levels. Disgusting, overflowing trashcans of waste.
Holidays are notorious too. Times Square post ball drop on New Year’s Eve. Disgusting. If it’s wet it is piles of paper pulp reminiscent of vomit. Giant piles of Sesame Street colored vomit.
Fourth of July another shitshow of epic NYC proportions. So much food wasted and dangerous bottles and glasses in massive piles. It is the ultimate display of first world excess.
One time there was a pile outside a pizza shop on Eighth Avenue that came up to my chin. Larger than my kitchen. Just pizza crusts, paper plates, and soda bottles in the most disturbing mountain ever.
Then sometimes I wonder where it all goes. Who cleans up our mess here in this disgusting city? Who is paying the price for a city of such gross waste?
