Fritz Extra 5 is not as impressive in person as Fritz Extra 4. It doesn’t have that vellum look that appeals to me. But the red bleeds so nicely.

Today was a good day. Went to Blicks in Chelsea. Got several types of ink. Great stuff all around.

Although I bitch about the closing of Pearl River, I must say that it is amazing that the catalog my art teacher ordered from in middle school is now a chain in Manhattan. It’s nice and I love going in their stores.

I do find it funny that they have removed the Dick from their name for the most part. If they really knew me as a part of their demographic they would have increased the amount of Dicks in the name. Or maybe added a Big before the Dick.

Oddly the corporation is still listed as Dick Blick on Google. Why they would remove Dick from the name in Chelsea is baffling. Enough of the joking.

So every single time I go in the store, the experience starts off rather tame. Then I get this run in with an employee who is super opinionated and I fucking love it. They offer opinions about the products because they use them.

It’s this honesty that I adore. I adore anyone who gives a fuck about anything. Art supply nerds unite.
