FFXIV Nico 10 shows me in The Binding Coil of Bahamut in my Scholar Darklight with Tinkerbellesque fairy in tow. That was a mouthful. Did most of you follow along with that?
I am pretty sure this was in Turn 2. Waiting for the enrage method to become available. A boring time that could be used by players to socialize.
But it so infrequently was used for that. Usually it was used for obnoxious social interaction. Or worse arguing.
This is the main reason I stopped playing both times. It seemed that even with like minded people the interaction wasn’t profound enough to keep me.
Only within Faceless Moon, the last Free Company I was a part of, did I have good social interactions. Good discussions about mutual likes that surpassed the usual MMORPG chit chat.
Thise were good moments. Talking about David Lynch and Twin Peaks while drinking alcohol. Finding someone who wanted to share an opinion and share their lives was too infrequent. So I left.
I didn’t need an army of Kate Bush and Yoko Ono fanatics. Just a couple would have worked.
Perhaps the problem was that I didn’t reach out to the three or four people I did find that I loved. Once again my failure as a leader and the reinforcement that I am such a flake rears it’s head.
