So here is the earliest working version of this song from 2004. I told you it was a song that stayed hidden for too long. Now all of the good bits are coming out.
This is the original string version. The strings came first before the piano. I love it as much as the finished piece. Maybe a little more.
Ernesto isn’t completely on board with me posting all these little bits. He wanted to use the other two watercolors for songs he is working on. I said no, these are a group and I am going to overshare because that is what I have done for the past year here.
Plus, I can always create more art. I just wanted to make this release something special. To honor the tremendous amount of work we have put in over the years.
It is hard work. Archiving and organizing and creating. Dragging all this around like pieces of art I did thirty years ago. But it is too important not to do.
I could just go along with the way of the world. Shouting about nothing. Doing harm to everything on this planet. But instead I always turn that energy into the act of creation.
I like making things and have since I was a child. It is that drive that is the basis of the procreative urge. But you can channel it and control the outcome.
It seems what I can do best. I love this song and the watercolor. I see some failure but I also see greater success. If I weren’t failing on some level, I know none of this would be worth it.
