Dark Matchy Matchy is the negative of Matchy Matchy. I printed these via inkjet. One ins even creatin a painted version on canvas.
I always love negatives. They make me think of that time on Battlestar Galactica when they shoot Satan in the face with some laser prop. His head then shows a negative effect Set head. Whoooo, Baphomet.
Now looking at it I am taken back. The character’s name was Count Iblis. Stolen from the Koran no less. A strange moment in the overall story of Battlestar Galactica.
More importantly Count Iblis was played by actor Patrick Macnee. Avengers forever. Too bad he died last June. Stranger still that I barely remember this at all.
The screen capture is less like Baphomet or Set. It is more Jim Henson pig. Well at least the negative is there. Although there is not any intense black. Just grey.
So it is more playing with the levels. I think my piece is giving more demon. The eyes. The intense darkness. The truth. It’s all there in this simple slide negative.
I need to hunt up the painting on canvas. I posted it once on Facebook, but maybe I should see if it is worth showing here.
