Closed Laundry is a beauty bathed in blue. Touches of red dot the landscape. But you know the real star.
This weekend was okay. Today was tedious though. One of those days where I try to fix my broken laptop and a couple of hard drives to no avail.
The motivation for dredging through the past was to export our old Pro Tools songs as midi and audio. The restart and fix of technology failed me so I sought out other means to fix it.
I tried Pro Tools First. The free entry to their line. It won’t work. I could get the new version. It is now thirty bucks a month and I need a fifty dollar iLok dongle.
This is because the version of Pro Tools I actually own a valid license for no longer works on any current computer. Not to mention that the hardware I own doesn’t have a Yosemite audio driver.
Pair all his with the fact that nobody will repair a PowerBook as old as the one needed to run these things and you can fully see the trap of the now. On a planet with finite resources this is a shitty way for anyone to run a business.
It has made me completely turn on Avid, the makers of Pro Tools. I will never buy their products ever again. Disgusting business models aren’t something anyone should support.
