Booties is a pencil drawing of my favorite shows ever. My glorious eighties Velcro booties. Black leather with a zig zag leather band. I loved them enough to draw them.

I was thinking this morning in the shower that I would love to start life drawing from nudes again. I loved it in college.

Then I think that it is yet another thing to add to the massive To Do lists. On top of a full work schedule anything is a grievance. In America work consumes most lives.

It’s unfortunate because in the back of my mind I know it is a lie. I know I wasn’t born to work and then die. The system being stacked against me has allowed for the wholesale totality of my experience on this planet being sold to employment.

Less than Americans we are employees. A word that rubs me wrong and I don’t know why. Today when I get home I will research the origin of employee. When I get home after a grueling day at work.
