ACE sees a simple image of the 42nd Street stop of the ACE line. All those cables and lines out in the open for anyone to see. Very few seem to appreciate this distinctly New York beauty.

This lack of appreciation certainly stems from the dread of the subway itself. A dread that still persists in this post Bernie Goetz reality.

Right now I am riding the subway and it’s full of public transport entitlement. Manspreading has become an Internet meme. What nobody talks about is womanspreading. Which happens as frequently as the male equivalent.

As I type this there is a woman to my left dragging her bag across my arm making typing this nearly impossible. Let me state that it isn’t crowded enough to warrant this invasion of my personal space.

What it really is about is that she saw some entitled woman carry her bag in the crook of her elbow and it completely infected her mind. The princess carry doesn’t allow for my personal space. It is one of many abhorrent affectations that plague current reality.

It’s thoughtless behaviors like these that cause the malaise that stops people from noticing the beauty around them. It sets up every personal interaction as a potential mini-war. A battle of power over nothing. Or on a bad day a battle over everything. Just Google subway fights for more info.
