Here is first in the two series set of Lindsay Lohan. Talk about the continuation of struggle. These pieces were unbelievably hard to finish. The top layer would not cooperate. This is the first time I used five or six top layers. All the rules flew out the window with this series, this is just a series of two and already there is no black layer
I would just sand each layer back enough and try to re-emphasize the image. Once again it almost adds a touch of anaglyphic 3D to the image much like the second Ivana.
I also love the hypercube pattern. I think it works really well. I just built a tessellating hypercube in Illustrator. I ungrouped each piece and started subtracting. I loved how it just fit Lindsay’s face and overall it works. The diversity and complexity of shapes is astounding.
The greatest success in this piece is how painterly the process looks. The white of her face is wonderful and the green too. And there is something extremely sad I manage to convey. Maybe that sadness comes from how much I struggled on these two tiny pieces.
