This is the third and final piece of Sharon Osbourne which means it’s time for the photo layer. By now this has solidified the process into a set of three. Solidified it right before it changes again.
I do love how the top image doesn’t necessarily match up. When I worked for the newspaper I collected numerous four-color process photos that were out of alignment. Spot colors that didn’t match up. Odd lithographic dust dimples that ruined the modern printing perfection. I have to remember to enhance those types of failures in future pieces.
I have pondered the idea of returning to this format for another series. Maybe this time doing images of people I worship. In this particular series I dabbled for the most part in people I didn’t necessarily love or hate (with very few exceptions; Agyness, Nadja). I found it easier to project onto these people without making the pieces slanderous or too fanboy. Maybe in the future I should hold back less.
Although writing about these pieces has been difficult, especially this week, I find this process amazing. I finally have a place for my pieces on the internet. Which has been a dream for quite some time. And I would have nothing to post if not for these older pieces. Thank you, Sharon.
