Well it’s been a much longer break than I thought. August being a placeholder post of a month, A best of post borrowed from my Instagram. Not exactly the best of circumstances.

I think that the year of posts threw me off a bit. Looking back at the work, some is good and some not so good.

That was the point. To get over deciding what was good and what wasn’t. I am so disoriented that I probably don’t know anyway. It was more an exercise in getting over fear.

It worked and I don’t think I have ever been so fearless. I must say it’s hard finding out what is me without a cage of fear surrounding my personality.

So here in September I started cleaning house. Fall brings it out in me. Throwing out six wooden panels, I instantly thought better of it. I put them in the trash and then instantly pulled them out because I knew I should work on them.

What if I stopped over thinking the process and just made something? No more far-reaching goals, over planning, massive problem solving.

A break from the tedious megaprojects, hours of sitting and assembling the migraine inducing work of late.

Instead, how about just doing? Just do something. Anything.

This is the first of that idea. Ernie’s initial response was “tortured.” I instantly thought, like a bad dress on Project Runway? No, like the model looks like she is being tortured. Well, yeah.

But she also looks like Klimt and Art Nouveau. She looks like a cigar box decoupage. She looks handmade. So maybe nobody will ask if this is real or Photoshop this time.

More importantly I get something up in September. So I don’t feel like I robbed my Instagram and I actually made something work in this second half of the year. Let me see if I can keep this going.
